About the Role:
We are looking for a Director Merchandise Planning to manage our fast growing eCommerce channel. You will be responsible for leading the merchandising planning team for the eCommerce business, developing and executing assortment and pricing strategies to deliver growth and margin goals, while also maintaining target inventory levels. You will partner with cross-functional teams including Growth, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, Technology to support the execution of monthly campaigns, and adjust sourcing plans as needed to meet accelerated growth. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead the development of the eCommerce strategy with respect to sales, margin, inventory in partnership with the merchandising and growth teams
- Partner with the merchandising, growth, operations and marketing teams to support the execution of monthly eCommerce programs
- Develop effective financial plans that optimize sales; forecasting, and revising forecasts as necessary; achieve sales, margin and inventory plan goals
- Partner with finance on targets to support annual plan (sales, margin, and inventory)
- Develop and communicate current opportunities, risk management scenarios, proposed pricing solutions, sales driving promotions, and inventory flow improvement recommendations
- Oversee the development of cost benefit analysis for changes in pricing or promotional strategies, special programs, and expansions of inventory
- Regularly update senior executive team on current status of business and future risks / opportunities
- Partner with the technology teams to develop eCommerce planning and forecasting products needed to manage inventory, and optimize sales / margins
- Cultivate the growth, development and overall performance of the eCommerce planning team, including review and develop workforce plans, manage performance of all team members consistently
What We’re Looking For:- 6+ years of experience, of which 2+ years of experience in a top tier management consulting firm
- Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate degree in Economics, Statistics, Math or MBA in Top schools preferred
- Experience in planning, inventory management, growth strategies, pricing and promotion analyses
- Strong analytical skills, creative problem solver that can deliver comprehensive, balanced & actionable analysis
- Strong communication skills including the ability to deliver presentations in a professional and direct manner
- Proven ability to effectively build and manage relationships, interact at all levels within the organization and across multiple functions
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to persuade, communicate vision and motivate people at every level, cooperative working style
- Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
